Romance is about stepping beyond the cold hard world for a while and making time to put special focus upon that bond you share with another person. A romantic dinner at a favorite restaurant, a walk on a favorite nature path, soft music with dim lights and a bottle of fine wine, these are all excellent directions to take for a romantic interlude, but what about when money is in short supply and you're stuck at home together looking for romance? Baby, let me wash your hair.
Yes, it may seem like a mundane chore any other time but the opportunity to wash the hair of the one you love can be the basis for a very deep expression of love and caring that many people miss out on. When you wash the hair of your partner with love and care, you are serving them in a very special fashion and you are telling them that you are willing to focus yourself on their needs. For most people, their
hair is an extension of their personality. When you care for their hair, you are sending a very potent message about how you feel towards them.
The single best way to wash another person's hair is to
take a shower together. Can anyone dispute that? A warm soapy shower can get almost anyone's "motor running" and in fact, flowing water imparts romance by itself. Start the encounter by letting your partner wet down completely and let them take care of any routine showering aspects such as washing their face, while you assist. Remember, this endeavor is about your partner and what you can do for them.
Once your companion is ready for their hair to be washed, let them tell you which products to use and the proper amounts of each. If you outline the process before you begin, that allows your friend to more readily escape into how you will be making them feel. Don't be afraid to use a bit more shampoo or conditioner than you think is actually needed. You don't want to use too little. Make sure your partner's hair is wet to the scalp and let them stand in the flow of the water, facing away from you. This is important, your partner should face away from you...for now. Once again, this helps your companion to escape into your hands and how you are making them feel.
Begin by dispensing the shampoo into your hand, not directly to your partner's scalp. The shampoo will be cold coming from the bottle, pre-warm it in your hands for your companion. It only takes but a moment and I guarantee it will be appreciated. Start by applying the shampoo to their hair beginning from the top of the head and
slowly working downward until all the hair is covered. Take some time to use a combing action with your fingers to assure that all the hair is adequately covered and soapy. Using your hands in this manner will set the pace for the entire encounter. Work in small sections being careful not to yank on any snarls. Don't be afraid to include the neck and shoulders in your efforts but for now keep your focus above the collar bones!
The next step is wherein the magic resides, that is in massaging your partner's scalp. Work slowly and gently but with a firm touch. Begin at the temple hairline and work back towards yourself. Once you have begun this action be warned, your partner may not want you to stop this. Take a pause occasionally to gently draw your fingers through the full length of the hair. You may even very lightly tug at the sections rooted behind the temples and in front of the ears. Don't pull, just apply a tiny bit of resistance as you draw your fingers through those areas. Thoroughly and completely massage and clean their scalp. I promise that most people will remember that experience for days.
I think you can take it from here, with the addition of just a couple more small suggestions. First, be very sure to make the room warm enough for when you get out of the shower. Nothing kills romance quicker than frost bitten toes. Second, have a couple
huge towels at the ready for receiving your freshly washed bodies after your endeavor. If possible, freshly laundered towels straight from the dryer can provide an exceptional experience all by themselves.
Now, go tell someone that you love them!
