Sew a cloth baseball for some toddler fun

As a parent, it can be very frustrating buying our babies and toddlers toys that they play with for awhile and then go on to the next more interesting toy. My house is cluttered with toys that just don't get played with very often. I put them away and they immediately get pulled back out of the toy chest and used for 5 minutes. Gosh Mom, don't you know that belongs on the floor? My little one especially loves the balls and has become quite good at throwing them. There's gotta be something softer right?

Enter wikiHow. They have a step by step instruction article, complete with pictures, on how to make a cloth baseball to use as a toy, give as a gift, use as a sewing pincushion, or just use as a decoration. I think it is perfect for older babies and toddlers. They have something safe to chew on, throw around the house and play catch with. Trust me, I would rather get hit in the head with a cloth baseball than with the real thing.

Ultimately, this project is a great way to get rid of those old jeans you have hanging around the house. All the items you need to make the cloth baseball should be accessible too. You also save money because even though stores carry soft toys, it is much more fun and more true to your DIY'er nature to make it yourself.
