That bathroom medicine cabinet staple -- dental floss -- has always come in handy in a pinch for me. From propping up windowsill herbs to tying fallen tree sticks together for disposal, dental floss has many great uses beyond the crusty removal of mouth barnacle in the cushy spaces between your teeth.
How about using floss to cut sheet cake into perfectly symmetrical pieces? Or using it as a clothesline? It's amazing what people will find a use for when it comes to that $1.50, 50-yard enclosed spool of floss. I mean, the stuff is so strong for its size that it is begging to be put to non-tooth use, right?
My favorite from this list
deals with tying a piece of floss to dripping faucet (to either knob) and letting a drip stream down the floss into the drain instead of creating a "drip...drip...drip" noise all day and all night long. Save your sanity -- get some floss tied to that sink handle now!
