If you're an aluminum can recycler who means business, my guess is that you have one of those poly or plastic can crushers screwed to a wall in your garage or utility room. These devices crush cans to a fraction of their original size, and allow you to fit more in your recycling bag.

Would'ja believe (an ode to Don Adams) there are more scientific ways to crush cans for recycling? An electromagnetic can crusher sounds like a frat boy/engineering major's pet project, but apparently these devices really exist.

If you're into building your own power tools and devices, and know a little about electronic capacitance, check this project out. If you're into recycling aluminum (beer) cans, this may be right up your alley. Well, figuratively speaking, of cource.
