DIY spa treatment - Homemade exfoliating body scrub (and a little stretch mark secret)

My homemade spa experiments started with a deep condition, then an apple face mask, and finally the DIY'er manicure. The face mask disaster reminded me that sometimes we're better off sticking with a simple recipe rather than adding in all the fancy ingredients. This exfoliating salt body scrub is exceptionally simple and I was certainly impressed with the results. Try it for yourself and let me know what you think.
What you'll need
- Table salt
- Oil - recipe calls for olive oil but I used grape seed oil
- small container
What to do
- Pour table salt into the container
- Fill it with oil just until the oil passes the top of the salt
- Mix it thoroughly
- Spread over your body
- Rub in gently with your fingers
- Rinse off
- Reveal your new skin
After the break I'll let you know what I thought of this homemade exfoliant. I'll also let you in on the secret powers of grape seed oil and why I replaced the olive oil in this recipe with it.
I was thoroughly impressed with how vibrant this mixture left my skin. The oil was a bit hard to rinse away, and it left some salt behind, but that was dusted off easily enough. I'd also make sure not to rub it in too much, the salt is an excellent exfoliant and as such can be abrasive to more sensitive skin.
I substituted grape seed oil for olive oil. This oil contains Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Beta-Carotene. Grape seed oil is known for promoting healthy cell structure and preventing and healing stretch makes. While olive oil might do its job here in moisturizing your skin, the added benefits of grape seed oil make it an effective substitute.
My skin looks like it's been given new life and the recipe couldn't have been any more simple.

:TeaBags
:Ground Coffee(any kind..but I usually use French)
:Olive/Vegetable Oil
:Honey
:Cinnamon
:Sugar(for thickness)
:A pinch of salt(optional)
So you empty a couple of teabags into caontainer.(doesn't really matter how many; just depends on how much of the expoliator scrub you want). Then you Add your coffee, the cinnamon, then honey. About a spoonful of each...or whatever you think is enough. Then you can add your OPTIONAL pinch of salt. Then you add then olive oil, Just until it passes the top of all your ingredients. Last you add sugar until the scrub thickens.
