Graduation caps for tiny graduates

graduation ceremony by Herkie on Flickr
High school and college seniors are getting ready for their graduations this spring, a milestone that's certain to bring a season of new life experiences. But they aren't the only ones.

The younger set is getting ready for new experiences as well. Preschoolers will be moving on to elementary school. Kindergarteners will be moving up the ranks to first grade. What better way to recognize this milestone than with an official graduation cap, complete with tassel? I'll tell you more after the break.
You'll need:
  • poster board
  • white school glue
  • markers
  • yarn
  • decorative items, such as sequins or buttons
Gather your items, then follow these directions for a paper graduation cap. Even if your school has already created caps for graduating students, there are lots of other milestones that deserve a celebration.

Homeschooling parents might like to celebrate the completion of a grade. Finishing an extracurricular class or sport is always exciting. Even learning a new, hard-won skill is worthy of a special cap, don't you think?
