Are you looking for a little extra challenge this summer? Why not consider exhibiting your latest projects at the county fair? Over at CorgiPants, Jenna has a comprehensive post on how to exhibit and why it might just be a rewarding experience for you.

Not only is exhibiting your work an economical way to show it off, it's also an opportunity to see what other people who enjoy your craft are doing. And since the people who will be judging your work will be "experts" in your area, you'll also get some great pointers on how to develop your skill. I'll tell you more about Jenna's recommendations after the break.

To get started, Jenna recommends:
  • researching local fairs and their rules for exhibiting
  • choosing a finished project you've done in the last year
  • starting a project that will be useful to you when finished, or that can be donated
  • limiting your exhibition to just a small number of categories your first year
  • paying close attention to detail and method, since that's what you'll be judged on
I'm glad Jenna decided to share this information with us. In this digital age, we often turn to the internet for help when we get stuck on a project or a recipe, but visiting with others at a county fair is an excellent way to pick up new skills and hone your craft, while enjoying a sense of community at the same time.
