I admit, even though I know how to sew, it takes a special project for me to actually pull out the machine and get to work. Usually, those projects are gifts, like baby slings in drawstring pouches. The inspiration to sew may just have crossed my computer screen, with the adorable little girl clothing patterns and tutorials collected by Whip Up.
What little girl doesn't love a twirly skirt? This one is easy to sew, and the tutorial has very clear instructions and helpful photos; if you can sew a straight seam, you can please a little girl in your life.
The only possible drawback? The sizing is European, so you need to know the height of the wearer.
Elastic-waisted legging pants (with or without ruffles on the bottom) make me jealous that I have a little boy! How easy to get dressed each day without having that "sweatpants" look. Step-by-step instructions and easy-to-follow diagrams are included. Check out the matching sleeveless blouse, too.
Whip Up also includes links to a preemie dress pattern, a peasant blouse, and a kimono wrap.

I just saw the pattern/tutorial for the kimono wrap. I don't see yardage requirements. I am a pretty basic sewer and need all of the details. Help! I would like to make some for my little girls ... probably 2T and 5/6. Would a yard a piece work?
Thanks,
Kathy
