Be careful when using dryer sheets in your dryer. They leave a film on your dryer screen and can buildup and cause a fire. Just make sure you clean your screen with hot water, soap and a brush to remove the buildup once a month.

Eric, Those tips on the washer and dryer maintenence were excellant, so now, would you please tell me what I'm doing wrong with my almost new Maytag dishwasher? Nothing on the top shelf comes out nice! My glasses have water marks and the pyrex lookx etched and they look cloudy and not even clean looking, I have to wash them by hand and some of them won't even look nice then!! Little by little, my glass ware is getting ruined. The dishes on the bottom look clean but don't always feel clean. I have even tried that JetDry and if anything, that makes them worse! I'm so discouraged about this! Please help!

after using your washing machine you should always shut off your hot & cold water supply. why you may ask?...just ask anyone who has come home when there hose or valve burst and they had a flood.

Metal ducting is definitely the way to go. Have a contractor build your dryer ducting with a "clean out". I used to own the Suds King Coin Laundry in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Metal ducting was required by code. Lint, if allowed to accumulate, is a terrible fire hazard. Have your contractor check, and comply with, the local codes for LAUNDROMAT dryers. Vacuum them out once a month.

Arggggg!!!! Why do you have to post a VIDEO story? I would much prefer to read a story than have to sit there and watch/listen to some punk, who apparently can't even afford a razor, talk with his hands and act like a typical 21th century, cell-phone addicted idiot.

Http://bit.ly/SavingIdeas was pretty good with ideas that also save more money in ways usually going overlooked. I appreciated some of the tips that should save me more during these colder months of Winter.

The hints about basic maintenance for clothes washers and driers were simple and good to do a couple of times a year however another very important thing is cleaning the dryer duct from time to time. If you are lucky to vent to an outside wall it is fairly easy but if you vent through the roof turns in the duct it is a much bigger job.

After driving my car into my garage after being caught in a snow storm, I now have black marks on the garage floor. I don't know how to remove these marks.
