Perfect for fashion-forward homes, a suitcase fashioned into a dog bed is stylish and functional -- without breaking the bank.
Check out this great DIY project from our friends at
Houzz!
Interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn loves his rescue terrier Gidget, but not so much the mounds of shedding hair she leaves behind on his velvet upholstery.

Store-bought dog beds can easily reach ludicrous prices, so when it came to finding one that fit his beautifully curated, Mid-Century home -- yet was also budget-friendly -- Brian went the DIY route.
In spectacular fashion, he upcycled a vintage suitcase (pictured, left) to make a stylish and functional piece of canine furniture (pictured, right, as enjoyed by Gidget). Now this pampered pooch is lounging in high style -- and keeping her grubby paws off of the sofa!

The edges of a suitcase are way too sharp for a bed. Wouldn't a pillow on the floor be more comfortable for a pet? This idea is really reaching. I'm in the creative field, and this idea is really low-rent. Come on ... really!
ReplyThese will probably sell too. People are willing to spend SO much $ on their pets. But they really do become part of the family, it's true! There are all kinds of FREE PET products on HTTP://Bit.ly/petcrazy
There's free foods and everything. No membership required. I request samples from them all the time since the offers change daily.
What a COOL idea !!!.......
ReplyYou can get all sorts of "feet" from VanDyke's Restorers.........can make your own "pillow cover"
to match the suitcase.......ALLLLL sorts of creative possibilities.....
And MOROBI........
I SERIOUSLY DOUBT that the "edges" of the suitcase are "too sharp" for a dog bed.....as it
would create a TON of PO'ed suitcase users with "snagged clothes" from those "sharp
edges"....... And what about the multitude of IRON dog beds that are sold......
I, too, have been in the "creative field" since the mid-80's........ Your comments show nothing
but your ignorance and narrow-mindedness.......as well as your age.....
Evidently....you're NOT "old enough" to remember suitcases from THAT "era"...........
And it shows.
