Upholstered nightstand: batting

The fabric is stapled thoroughly and evenly to a part of the stand where it will be out of sight. You'll be folding it over the batting, which will be stapled down in the next photo. If you look closely, you'll see that the fabric is being stapled in a way so that the staples will be hidden when the work is finished (i.e., the fabric will be folded back over this, from the top of the photo towards the bottom; the wrong side of the fabric is showing).
