Geranium
Stinky-leaved and common as mud, that's true. But geraniums remain popular for good reason: they are eye-catching yet tough. Water them well, and you will be rewarded with tons of vibrant red, pink, white or coral flowers. Down side: they may go dormant during especially hot weather. Up side: they are perennial in many zones. Full sun, afternoon shade.
