Adding a stick at the last minute: 6 stitches in a spiral, about two inches or so long, makes a tube that looks like a stick; a little bit of drinking straw inside helps it hold its shape, and it's stitched on at the cast-on ring of the base of the Bomb Pop. The result is floppy, though. You can stabilize it with a bamboo skewer, but if you do, never let this amigurumi be used as a toy. If you plan ahead, you won't need to add a skewer... this style is only for people who made the amigurumi to stand on the shelf, then didn't like the result. Like me.
