Children's Day in Japan

Samurai doll display
As Hinamatsuri (Girls' Day) is associated with the display of dolls that represent the Japanese imperial court of about 1000 years ago, Boys' Day (since renamed Children's Day) is linked to the display of samurai dolls representing "manly virtues." This is one such traditional set of dolls. Visit this photo's Flickr page to find a full set of close-ups and detail shots. http://www.flickr.com/photos/matsuyuki/484919653/
