Crochet hooks - a comparison
Crochet hooks - a comparison
This scan shows the difference in head shapes among hooks of different brands. The blue hooks on the left both have throats cut in at a deep angle, which allows the hook to grip yarn more securely. The gold metal and grey plastic hooks on the right have shallower throats and hooks. Some people prefer the latter style: try both in the same size and see which you prefer. If you "just can't learn to crochet" with one style, try the other before you give up entirely.
