12 Jobs That Will Never Disappear

Jul 21st 2009 4:35PM Nurses definately need to be on the list. Doctors serve their purpose, but its nurses who carry out 98% of the orders written by doctors. Without us, hospitals wouldn't run, and patients wouldn't be cared for.

In response to "heather" the hair stylist, yes, Barbers DO cut women's hair, and do it very well. I went to a Barber for 15 years before she finally left the business after being in it for 25 years total. She cut, colored, and permed my hair quite nicely. I'm now again going to another Barber, who also is very skilled, and can do everything I would need a hair stylist for. She's got far more training as a barber, then you do as a stylist. I prefer the education over the title.

Who should pay $1.4 million tab for Jackson's funeral?

Jul 15th 2009 11:39AM I think that the Jackson family SHOULD pay for the expense of the funeral. They made the decision to turn it into a circus, not the city of LA. The funeral could have just as easily been a small, private event, that wouldn't have required extra police support and shutting down major roads. I don't think that MJ deserves anything more then the average person gets....just because he's a "superstar". He was a great musician in my book, but I don't think I should have to be the one paying for his funeral, especially since the city of LA is already so over budget!

Is Plus-Size the Average Clothing Size?

Oct 11th 2008 11:32PM I am a BBW, I'm fat, I'm overweight, I'm obese, I'm also so damn tired of hearing people judge me because of my size. Being fat does not mean I'm not as intelligent as a "thin" person is, it does not mean I'm not as capable as a "normal" person is, it does not mean that I should be judged because of my size. In this day and age, where we all are so aware of political correctness in regards to race, or sex, or even sexual orientation, why are we still so hung up on the size of an individual. Thin OR Fat??? Since when does someone's size act as a measure of that person as an individual. Why is it that supposedly "normal" people have the right to be so self entitled to call names of those that they don't think look right? Last time I checked, throughout history people have come in ALL sizes, races and appearances. Why have we not grown as a culture in size acceptance, as we have in regards to judging individuals because of race or sex?

To all those "regular" sized people, when I want your opinion on MY size....I'll ask you, until then, take a good look in the mirror, and decide what you can do about making YOURSELF better, before you go giving your two cents to others. I know I'm fat...and even though YOU aren't OK with it...I am, and thats the ONLY opinion that counts.

Dancing With The Stars: Week 3

Oct 7th 2008 11:57AM It is beyond time for Cloris to go home. She should have been voted off either the first night or second night to be sure. I commend her for getting out there and doing what she does, but her antics make a mockery of what the other "stars" are trying to do, which is win the competition. I think she should approach the producers, and tell them that regardless of where she is ranked with callers, they need to make her the next person voted off. She's proved that 82 doesn't mean you're dead by getting out there and performing, but enough is enough.

Searching For a New Vacuum?

Aug 26th 2008 1:21PM I recently took my Dyson to a friend's house to help her with some deep cleaning. She owns a Kirby, and having sold Kirby's a few years back, I once believed they were the best on the market. I used my Dyson thru her entire house, and we ended up with a plastic grocery bag FULL of dog and cat hair and dirt that had been deep down in her carpet, that her expensive Kirby wasn't getting. She looked at her husband after we showed him what had come out of the carpets, and told him that the Kirby's were out, and she was buying a Dyson. The only thing he said was "where are you going to take the Kirby's?". I have 3 cats, and with that a lot of cat fur. Dyson's are amazing cleaners. They get the stuff you just THINK your vaccuum is getting.

Clear View: Sherri Shepherd Isn't Going Anywhere

Aug 20th 2008 6:44PM Used to watch The View on a fairly frequent basis, even throught the Rosie and Star days, but REFUSE to watch it now with Elizabeth. When she was out on maternity leave, I once again started to watch the show, and as soon as she came back, I stopped. She is irritating, annoying, whiney and so self centered she should be slapped. Barbara would make a lot of folks happy if she got rid of Elizabeth, and I'm willing to bet that their Neilson ratings would go up too. Its over time to show Elizabeth the door.

Torres Shows She's a Good Sport, Then Blows Away the Field

Aug 16th 2008 11:08AM I agree on the "old woman" comment. I'm 41, and I'm not ready for a nursing Dara Torres is definately NOT ready for a nursing home, as she's kicking some serious butt of the swimmers who could be her "kids". Who ever wrote this obviously isn't over the age of 25.
Go Dara!! Go Team America!!

Searching for Plus-Size Jeans?

Jun 15th 2008 1:14AM I've found the best fitting jeans for my body are Lee Rider jeans for women. They are built for women with hips, but who also have a waist line. They go to a size 24, possibly 26, and come in petite, average and tall's, and can be found at Wal-Mart. You can also go to their website, and buy from there too. I've worn the style that has a little give to it, and the regular all cotton denim for years, and are the best fitting, and best priced in my opinion.

Couple welcomes New Year's baby for the second year in a row

Jan 4th 2008 5:26PM the article. It clearly states that "Both this and last year's babies were the first born in the New Year at their local hospital. " Of course there were other babies born on New Years, closer to midnight. What makes THIS story noteworthy is that these sisters share the same birthday, and the distinction of being the first babies to be born in that hospital on New Years Day. Congrats to the family, and Happy Birthday to both little miracles.

How to treat a cold sore

Jan 3rd 2008 3:11PM I've suffered from feverblisters aka cold sores for years, and have found that using L-Lysine at the first sign of an outbreak will just about completely stop it. The last time I felt an outbreak coming, I started taking 2 tabs, every 4 hours, and from the time that the first sore showed up, to the time the blister was gone, and I was in the healing phase was literally 3 days. It is amazing, doesn't require a prescription, and is a natural ammino acid that the body needs. You can find the tabs in the vitamin section of your drug store.
