Ten Best Hotels for the 4th of July

Jul 1st 2010 12:23AM I would add the Renaissance Vinoy Resort Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida. We once got together with friends and rented a room with a hot tub on a patio right under the fireworks over Tampa Bay. It was just lovely!

Need a Silent Night? Doze Deep With These Dreamy Devices

Dec 26th 2009 9:53PM I'm with the box fan folks. We have two in our bedroom and I use one in my office all the time just to keep away distracting sounds. A box fan is just a square fan that sits on the floor and is about 20 inches across. Lasco makes a nice loud one, Galaxy is quieter, the cost at a Home Depot or Lowes is under $15. I have a disorder where certain kinds of sounds (soft sounds like chewing or tapping) do more than annoy me, they cause a rage reaction. The fans both sooth me and block out annoyances.

House Narrowly Passes Historic Health Care Bill

Nov 8th 2009 12:29PM Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) warned, "I have no doubt that although the American people may forget what was said here, they will never forget what was done here and who did it to them."

I hope that is true. What was done was to provide much needed health care reform and those is provided it were Democrats. It is such a shame that votes are by politics...reelection politics...instead of by what the American public want and need.

Republican Wins in Virginia, New Jersey Build Momentum for 2010

Nov 4th 2009 1:19AM I'm tired of AOL calling Politics Daily part of their NEWS service. It is not news, it is opinion and should be clearly labeled such.

Republican Wins in Virginia, New Jersey Build Momentum for 2010

Nov 4th 2009 1:10AM Does anyone think it is possible that the elections had little to do with Obama (as exit polls also indicate) and more to do with what the candidates had to offer and the off-year low voter turnout which almost always draws more unhappy voters than happy voters? Add to that the win in upstate New York of a moderate Democrat over the Conservatives' choice and you have even greater reason to believe the gubenatorail wins for the GOP were not based on a general swing from the policies of Obama, who still has a pretty high approval rating.

Gibson-Palin Interview Reactions

Sep 12th 2008 1:08AM Palin is Bush's (also) evil twin. Attractive, personable, shallow, cocky, self-certain, undaunted by logic and unwilling to see the America that is different from themselves. They both are indifferent to the environment, are rigid in their interpretation of religion, and have an inability to lead our nation to better things
