Jan 23rd 2011 12:31AM Elizabeth meant to say the plastic washes into the lake from "SILT" fences I think, especially if they're "SLIT" Tee Hee
Dec 29th 2010 2:57AM I couldn't believe me eyes when I read the title of this article. Being a contractor for over 30 years I can tell you he's WAY off base here. When I tile a bathtub, I purposely don't put grout in ANY of the joints of adjoining surfaces, including the verticle corner joints. The reason is they crack! I always use a pure silicon type caulk and no, it just doesn't last a lifetime, few things in life do. We ask a lot of this sealed area and it's important to keep it in good working order. Preparing is the hardest thing (I like to use steel wool to remove the last bits of silicon) and if you use a row of tape on each side of each joint, it will look super professional when you're done! Forget grout!
Dec 4th 2010 12:09AM Roofing cement can be a good way to TEMPORARILY repair a roof but once it's applied, you'll have to check it very often. Freeze/thaw cycles make it shrink and expand wildly which will result in cracks that will need to be refilled. I've been roofing on new and remodeled homes for 40 years and as I always say "If it's new, it shouldn't have ANY, and if it's a repair, it's gunna need a new roof SOON!"
Sep 9th 2010 5:46PM HEY!!! I'M A CONTRACTOR WHO LOVES BOTH BEAUTIFUL LONG LEGGED BLONDES AND HOUSES!!! SO I THINK THE ADS ARE GREAT!!! TeeHee JW
May 8th 2010 7:01AM This is SOOO stupid! My wife isn't MY mother, why would I buy her a gift? She doesn't buy me a gift on Father's Day! Nor would I expect her to . . . . BTW we've been married a VERY long time, and neither of of have any kids . . . lol
Apr 28th 2010 2:53PM LOL, Funny Mark, but I'm just wondering why in hell anyone's even TALKING about a '96 Honda? Take it to the junkyard like all that Jap crap . . .
Apr 20th 2010 6:31AM I really think you're a lovely woman Erin and your description of how to replace shingles was . . . well . . . interesting. I'd say that 95% of homeowners have never been on their roofs and probably shouldn't even attempt it. Of those that do go up there, maybe 2% have some kind of clue how to actually repair it. Calling a qualified roofer might save a nasty ambulance ride. Finding an older color/size/style of shingle is usually the most difficult part but roofing SUPPLY HOUSES are a much better choice than home improvement centers. BTW I use my cell camera to show people damaged areas (sent to their e-mail address) so they can see problems. Ask your contractor to do this if you really want to see it.
Apr 14th 2010 8:16AM I met my wife in my kitchen. She was dating a friend but came back looking for me when they broke up. She looked like a model and I was in heaven. We've been married 28 years now! Wow
Mar 22nd 2010 5:08PM Steve? Are you ASSUMING from her note that she was SEXUALLY harassed? She states that "He came on to me" which in and of itself tells us nothing. Now obviously she was turned off enough by his clothes and hair that she didn't want to do business with him, but sexual haressment? BTW she's from Dallas, not Calif. or New York so maybe you didn't read it? I've been a landlord for 35 yrs and believe me, I've had some pretty gross women want to live in my properties, not that I would discriminate! lol
Feb 26th 2010 2:47PM R U people that dumb? Really now . . . . they just got you to look at a BEER ad!!! didn't they? lol
