Fixing My Grandmother's Hand Mixer - A Thanksgiving DIY Tale

Nov 22nd 2010 5:54PM Such a great story. Kristine your Grandmother was a beautiful lady. You can feel the love between you two in the picture. Guess what! I also have (I think) a hand crank mixer. I also loved it. It was quick to use, at least for easier batters. Mine may have been a bit older. It has a wooden handle that is cracked from age but still works. We inherited it with a summer house we bought in Michigan. I think it may have been bought in the fifties or sixties. I haven't been in the house in years, so I'm not sure if its still there. I'm tempted to drive over to see if it is. Have a great Thanksgiving. I will share this story with my family.

Beating Soap Scum: Two Methods Put to the Test

Nov 15th 2010 6:28PM After YEARS of using soap, I switched to shower gels and will never go back
I rarely clean my shower now! Imagine what it leaves on your skin? Ditch the soap
and use the gel. Unless of course, you actually enjoy cleaning soap scum. (no I don't own any
stock in shower gels :))

Blackhawks Put 49 Years of Pain to Bed

Jun 10th 2010 4:49PM Very well written article. I envisioned this from last year and hoped the player changes would help them to this victory. Well done Blackhawks! You make us proud!

Taking advantage of a tough rental market

Mar 11th 2009 1:38PM Not true!!! Don't believe this lady. I own an apartment building that is well kept and maintained. I have people begging me to let them know if one opens up. The only negotiating power you have is in less desirable apts that are such bad shape they can't find anyone to rent them. As other people have mentioned, it depends on the area you're looking in. If you like an apartment and you see its taken care of, then its worth every penny.
