May 17th 2013 3:21PM You mean to tell me that NOBODY could smell that man rotting in his apartment before THREE weeks went by? And didn't he have a job or anyone who would wonder where the hell he is? The people who want to leave that building and move should be allowed to break their lease and have their deposits back. There is NO WAY anyone should be allowed to live where a rotting body was stinking up the place because that smell is something you'll have in your nose for a very long time! WHEW. I feel for those people and for the man because obviously nobody really cared about him if he was left to rot for three weeks.
May 9th 2013 11:14PM Ok, he did his time and now he's out in the public. What kind of sex offender he was, who knows but it doesn't seem right for him to have a sign on his front lawn. Everyone who has sinned (And we ALL HAVE) would have signs on all our lawns stating what we have done in our past. That's between us and God. Now, for the safety of kids or women, these people should have to live in a certain area away from schools, women's shelters and who ever they commited the crime against. It's like in the old days when someone did time and came out into the real world, it was real hard for them to get a job. Nobody wants to take a chance on a criminal but people can change. I know what they did was wrong but posting a sign or making somewhere wear the SCARLET LETTER is wrong too.
Apr 21st 2013 4:05PM 9 times out of 10, those realtionships fail and THEN they learn the hard way that it's STUPID to go into a big venture like a MORTGAGE on a home without being married. You can claim you're committed to someone all you want but unless you make it offical, license and wed, you're just kidding yourself. It's a temporary set up that will cost an arm and a leg to resolve when one of the parties decide that they met someone else and want out. After being married for almost 30 years, I've seen this happen over and over with friends and family. If it was such a great thing, there wouldn't be 10 billion divorices a year! People would be happy, living togeher and staying together. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Watch what happens to all those people just living together and see how many of them are still together in 10 years. VERY FEW end up getting married and staying together. Do things right the first time and you won't have to repeat yourself!
Apr 17th 2013 11:57PM Most people know that if your home was built before 1978, it's going to have lead paint! There's still many homes out there with asbestos in the attics, walls and basement flooring. I know this first hand since we almost bought a home that had Vermucilite filled in the attic. It has a whole house fan which means that ever time that fan is turned on, it's blowing asbestos into the air and around the surrounding homes. There were other homes we were looking at that had pipes wrapped in asbestos in the basement and those kinds of things should be disclosed BEFORE you enter the home! Our home that we have been living in for the past 12 years has lead paint on the alls and door frames. We painted almost every room when we first moved in except the kitchen. I've scrubbed those walls to the point the sickly yellow paint is wearing away and the bright blue from the 50's is showing through! I hate that all we can afford are homes with health issues from molds, lead paint, asbestos tiles which were in our basement and had to be removed properly. I swept those tiles and even vacuumed them for years before finding out they were asbestos! We only found out because we had a pipe burst and State Farm came in and told us that's what they were. We had an inspection but you just never know what deadly thing they can miss.
Apr 5th 2013 6:06PM HOAs STINK! That's why we never bought a home connected with that type of mentality and never will! Our American flag is on our property day and night! If I want to put a statue out there I will. If I want to paint my front door in rainbow stripes, I can! Ok, I wouldn't do that last one because I do have some taste but it's MY RIGHT to do what I want with MY PROPERTY!
Apr 2nd 2013 2:06AM There's two sides to every story. We don't know what the wife went through for 22 years. Maybe he was a cheating jack ass or a wife beater. Maybe he treated her like crap. There had to have been something pretty bad for her family to come in and remove EVERYTHING including the plants outside! I'd like to hear her side of the story.
Feb 10th 2013 2:36PM Let me tell you about our horror story with Chase Bank! We had to take out a loan to get a new roof. We went to them and explained how much we could pay a month and the loan officer did all her figuring and we agreed on the figure because we could handle that monthly payment. The VERY FIRST NOTE that comes in is TWICE as high as what the loan officer said it would be. We went right to the bank and she said she was sorry but she made a mistake. We went to the bank manager and he said there's nothing he can do. We were stuck with a payment that was double what we said we could afford. So we went home and looked up the CEO and big wigs of Chase and went straight to them. We explained that THEIR loan officer made a mistake, said she was sorry but the bank won't do anything about it. They said the same thing. There was nothing they could do about it and we had to pay it. Well, we couldn't afford the payment so we had to file bankruptcy because 2 weeks after the roof was put on, my husband lost his job of 28 years due to cut backs in the auto industry. The idiots at Chase banke couldn't care less what happens to the people! They just want to keep grabbing money as fast as they can. The bank we delt with moved that loan officer to a new bank location. That made us wonder just how many other people out there are getting screwed by Chase Bank! They could be doing this all over for all we know! CROOKS!
Feb 8th 2013 2:30PM If the state or city are going to use money from turning this gross, rotting, shack into a museum for say lower income families, health care, homeless, animal shelters, St.Jude, Cancer patients who can't work but have no money! Then, I could see this being a good thing. But to restor a rotting heap from some idiot murderer, STUPID! Obviously there's an underlying plan for SOMEONE to make money somewhere.
Justinianos' Bronx Home is 12 Inches From Apartment Building Construction, and It's Ruining Their View
Jan 19th 2013 1:57PM Damn cities! All they are concerned with is getting more taxes and making more money! I hope this family is able to stick it to the city and the builder for building that close to their home! Just think of the noise and SMELL pollution when everyone is moved in! How gross! I would take that to the higest court and make someone pay for their home and relocation to a decent neighborhood! Maybe the builder WANTS these people to get fed up and leave so he can buy the property and turn it into a parking lot for the apartment complex. Or maybe he'll open a laundry matt or a little store. I'm sure whatever his reason was for building so close has to deal with money.
Jan 6th 2013 12:55AM Too bad he didn't shoot that idiot between the eyes! One less crazie in the world! This is why we need guns. Had he broke into an unarmed person's home or an elderly person's home, they wouldn't be able to fight off someone like that and could have ended up dead right along with the dog. Good for that home owner for pulling the trigger but too bad he didn't aim higher!
