Jul 6th 2010 2:16PM My theory is that the rice will absorb the oily coffee dust - coffee has a good bit of oil in it which helps cause it to stick. The ground up rice could latch on to the oily grounds and make them dry enough that they don't stick as easy.
Just a theory.
Jun 16th 2010 2:02PM Bill - one thing I can tell you is when I'm on a dating website I won't even ping a guy unless it appears he's financially stable. I've had guys try to get me to support them over the years & I won't. I can't deal with that degree of stress.A guy needs to be stable before I'll look at him twice - hence why i am single despite my looks.
As far as the article goes... I don't clean up to run to the hardware store or get groceries. I wear my work jeans all weekend because I'm working - if I go to church, dinner anything social then i clean up.
If I got cleaned up every time i have to run an errand I'd be taking 12+ showers on a weekend. That & I also get tired of being treated like a dumb piece of meat when I do look nice - I'd rather be appreciated for myself then valued for my appearance.
Mar 4th 2010 1:06PM Because sometimes the drop cloth tape doesn't stick causing an unnoticed shift while you work, sometimes kids/animals will get into things (gasp), sometimes the paint tape allows dripped paint to seep underneath it.
Jan 29th 2010 7:33AM My vet has recommended I give my lab avocados (among other things) during the winter to help with her dry skin. 3 a week between October and March for 4 or 5 years now & shes fine.
I know avocados are bad for rabbits, goats & horses due to their digestive track.
Jul 9th 2009 9:38AM I recently switched to a small local bank. My account went over due to debt charges - I was baffled because on Friday it said I had XX available...
Long story short, after talking to a bank officer the following Tuesday, what this local bank is doing is at midnight every night they clear ALL the authorizations out for the debit cards regardless if the charge cleared.
So if you have a balance of $100 & then made $98 worth of purchases on Thursday. Instead of leaving the authorization - which puts a hold on that money for that purchase until the charge clears, the auth is cleared at midnight. The next morning (in this example on Friday) the available balance shows $100 available even though that $98 charge hasn't cleared. Thus causing some to loose track of their balance.
I only went over by $0.58 but I was seriously pissed and not only will I now not use the debit card I have with that bank but am seriously considering switching banks again.
Sorry for the ranting but if it saves someone else the same grief then it's worth it.
