May 31st 2011 9:20AM I had a cottonwood tree in my yard for years, and still have one in the back. You have shoots because they drop seedlings. That's how they propagate their species. I don't like them because they don't live very long (compared to other types of trees), and get rotten easily. I don't worry about shoots coming up. I mow them with the rest of the grass.
May 31st 2011 9:17AM A sheep or cow is much better than a goat. The sheep or cow will eat the grass and weeds, but the goat will eat everything except what you want him to eat. Been there. Done that. : )
Jan 4th 2011 5:28PM You are thinking of the verse below.
John 14:12 (New International Version)
12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
Notice that Jesus said he was "going away to the Father," so the "works" his followers would do after him would have an even greater broadcast, since Jesus himself would not be around anymore.
Also, what kind of "works" or "things" was Jesus saying they would do "greater"?
The "works" that Jesus' followers would do after his death were spiritual teaching works "greater than" the physical resurrections and healings Jesus performed, that only lasted until the person died a second time. Jesus was also limited to the area he traveled by foot.
Spiritual works are not just good for temporary life, but are good for eternal life.
The last command Jesus gave his followers (Matthew 28:19, 20) was to "Go, make disciples of people of ALL NATIONS..." thus covering the world and not merely the small area Jesus covered on foot.
Spiritual wisdom is always superior to physical wisdom, and when Jesus' followers went out after his death and preached in wider and farther areas, they began doing "works greater than these."
His words have nothing at all to do with cloning, a thing I regard as Satanic. Scientists seem to feel that if they can't CREATE life they will do their level best to manipulate it and take that as far as it will go.
Satan loves to imitate God, but always does it very imperfectly.
Dec 5th 2010 8:50PM Burnham stole Beiber's motorized bicycle? That's what a "Segway" is. Pity. Shows you who your friends are doesn't it? : )
I think you meant "segue."
Nov 15th 2010 7:43AM Don't worry about it, girls, it's NOT food. They just want you to go buy new and even more expensive stuff with less product in the package.
Oct 28th 2010 12:40PM ...now, why would anyone want to dig in a purse for a cell phone when they can flick their wrist and see what time it is? Ridiculous.
Oct 14th 2010 4:16PM ... Let that be a lesson to you all...
NEVER buy anything that works off electricity or batteries IF YOU CAN GET SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T.
Goes for anything...
Im still washing dishes by hand, and guess what... I'm GLAD.
Oct 2nd 2010 3:09PM Never drink any vodka except that made from potatoes. It is the best, and real vodka. : )
Sep 12th 2010 7:07PM Close to here, in NE Ohio, the citizens of a town near here got together and decided no Walmart. Thank you to them! While it's nice to have a big store for some things, I love the atmosphere of the small stores, and I'm happy to see a resurgence of the "coffee shop" idea, too.
The "dollar" stores seem to have taken over the "Five and Dime" stores, such as "Ben Franklin", we used to have here 50 yrs. ago.
I know of an old, old hardward store in a small town nearby, where you can go in and tell them you're looking for a gazinga, and they'll ask you, 'what color'?
