Mar 20th 2013 10:29PM What part of the story are the authorities missing here? Breaking and entering is a crime in EVERY state. So is Tresspassing. This makes squatters engaging in criminal activities,it makes them criminals. They shouldn't be asked to leave, they should removed in handcuffs!!
Mar 30th 2011 3:00PM Children emulate what they see but that doesn't mean they are ready for that stage in life. Sure it's natural for children to see babies being breastfed but they should be told that that's a mommy activity exclusively. I explained that to my children as they saw their sibling being fed. But they also saw daddy giving babies a bottle and sometimes got to hold the bottle too. Toys allow kids to pretend or try on different roles. Make sure the message is caregiver not pre-teen motherhood.
Mar 30th 2011 8:08AM I hope the new owners like it. I'm not a fan of it. Not sure which one I like least old or new. I recently built a vacation home and designed the kitchen my self. I got tons of cabinets, with rolling drawers and built- ins, stainless steel appliances and granite slab counters and an island for 15k all from the Home Depot. If they spent more than 8K for this kitchen, well, someone they hired is laughing all the way to the bank.
Mar 4th 2011 2:13PM I don't agree with replacing just the washer for several reasons. 1)It looks horrible and mis-mash.
2)If you do that you'll have one more glaring example of how tough times are.
3)When things get better or the old dryer goes out, the matching dryer may no longer be available.
4)Capacity may be different. New washer can handle a comforter but the old dryer can't. Or you have to dry clothes in "batches".
Laundry is already a chore, lets not make it depressing or more complicated too. Make your laundry room/area welcoming not a reminder of how your finances are doing. Sell off the old dryer, maybe someone's washer is still working but the dryer broke. Use that money to help off-set some the cost of the new matching dryer.
Mar 2nd 2011 11:49PM I had trouble too in the begining of my marriage figuring out the sharing the holidays & events between families. (putting them together was disaster, we tried it) Finances, our roles, friends, etc. Things got better when I focused the kids. They were my joy when they were little.
Feb 27th 2011 10:34PM In our house we would do a "monster search" together 1st with monster spray (water in a sprayer bottle with a few drops of my husband's aftershave). The kids would spray the bottle while I assisted by going holding up bedskirts and opening closet doors. Then I left the bottle on the nightstand just in case. Then we read a book and it was lights out. Worked great! Neat to see many folks also had Monster spray.
Feb 26th 2011 11:40AM I think I read somewhere that nature's goal is to produce healthy babies and won't allow conception if the body is in distress. Perhaps this is what is happening to Mrs Rancic? The author is right, the trick is to have healthy snacks ready to go so one doesn't reach for convenient chips. I slice cucumbers and other veggies and package in snack size resealable baggies and keep in a basket in the fridge ready to go. When we have to go somewhere I just pop a few baggies in a (fit & fresh) lunchbag with a cooler insert and go. It's a great companion on errands. I bought mine at www.bluebearcreekhome.com
Feb 25th 2011 4:40AM Yogi & BooBoo are innocent. I think we're looking at this all wrong. He didn't come to our house to steal picnic baskets. We came to his house visiting with gift baskets. He didn't wrestle anything away from anyone. He believes the baskets were in exchange for picnicing on his property! LOL!!
Feb 18th 2011 12:32PM I agree with Jon, stop giving freebies to illegals, look at the policies of the countries they are coming from...those countries don't have gifts for the uninvited, why should we? Note: Criminals need not apply, we already have plenty of our own. One major change, if your baby is born here to non-citizen parents they don't get to automatically be USA citizens. Tax companies that outsource manufacturing overseas and give tax cuts to manufacturing here. Buy american made products! Raise import taxes. Cut foreign aid. Time to call in our markers. This should be enough to start the first pass at paying off our debt.
Feb 12th 2011 8:02AM Marcy, I had the same situation. But you'll be glad to hear
this...when the kids grew up and moved out, they got used to a clean,
neat home. And now, keep their homes the same way. My youngest (22 yr
boy) lives with 3 roommates. Comes home and complains that "they are
such slobs!". He picks up and keeps his room & areas clean & neat. He
says they hang out in his room because the rest of the place is a mess
and they don't want to be in it. I'm smiling as I write this....
