Feb 17th 2012 5:12PM This guy, Peter obviously doesn't know what a nursing home is. A nursing home is for sick or demented people. It's a place where people go to get therapy or just to hang out till they die. A nursing home is not for a healthy old person. He may mean instead, "assisted living", which very well could be a good choice for his mother. But it's obvious he has not done his homework and is just being a greedy jerk, trying to get money off of her home.
Mar 6th 2011 5:38PM “Sittin’ By The Dock of the Bay”… such a rockin’ tune, but the tragic words of a lonely, heartbroken man who has completely given up and refuses to try anymore. Also, “D.I.V.O.R.C.E.” by Tammy Wynette, “Patches” (the Dickey Lee song, not the Clarence Carter song) and oh yeah, “Tears in Heaven.”
Jan 26th 2011 10:35PM Does this mean that an asthmatic person who uses an inhaler when they can't breathe, may as well forget trying to to compete in sports? I'm screwed, but I won't stay off my bike.
Jan 25th 2011 6:35PM Sarah Palin is NOT a conservative. Mrs. Palin quit her job. The people of Alaska elected her to be their leader. She bailed out on her people because there was more money for her at Fox News, telling everyone else to be conservative. A true conservative does not quit a good job. A true conservative conserves: money, resources, family values. A true conservative is humble, hard-working, respectful, and does not incite others to hate. A real conservative does not go for rock star status while others go hungry. Her daughter is probably confused about who she is.
Jan 14th 2011 11:31AM It's a shame that American Airlines can't be as conscientious. Just last night I was returning from seeing my very ill mother, after a very sad and stressful week of saying my goodbyes to her. I after I'd checked in for my flight, the stress finally hit, and I became sick at the airport. I was in the restroom and didn't hear when I was paged. I got to the gate with 3 minutes to spare and the young woman at the gate counter refused to let me on the plane. When I explained, she said, that's just tough. She brought her coworker over and he said the same thing, "I don't care. You missed your flight. You can catch another flight that will get you there sometime in the middle of the night" It was an abusive situation. I had to purchase another airline ticket that night to get safely to my destination and be able to have a ride home at a reasonable hour. Kudos to Southwest. American Airlines should either learn some compassion or get out of the business of transporting people.
Dec 8th 2010 5:09PM She needs vocal training. And how is this called country music? It's pop princess muzak all over again. She's pretty and a made-for-TV "star". Talent isn't a requirement anymore. Just be skin and bones with a nice smile, and flirt with the boys, and you don't need a style. She has cute songs, too "experienced" for her age. I don't care for her voice, she goes out of tune a lot. A year of vocal training would help her, and make her more marketable. American kids have such low taste in music. Haircut is cute.
Oct 21st 2010 4:33PM Thanks John. Eloquently stated. You couldn't pay me enough to own a GM product. New or otherwise. I'll take a used Toyota or Nissan over a new GM car any day. GM has sold out this country, demeaned their own history, and then dismantled the economy and livelihoods of the entire state of Michigan for greed. They make an inferior product, and have for decades now. Anyone who thinks they are supporting a US industry by buying a GM vehicle, needs to read the untainted news, not the contorted attempts to sway people into believing nonsense put out there by large oil companies, like this article, which actually tries to make you think that a Hummer is somehow less wasteful than a Prius.
Oct 21st 2010 12:11PM Thanks Ricardo. So eloquently stated. All you need is love. And, like it nor not, that's what they had. No reason for jealousy. Find love, and change your life like Lennon did.
Oct 21st 2010 11:48AM I get so tired of this rant over Yoko. Regardless of what you think of her, Yoko did not break up the Beatles. And Yoko's "pitchy singing voice and unconventional art" did not break up the Beatles, either." This is a poorly written article, but I do agree that racism and sexism had a lot to do with her being a scapegoat. Paul and John had issues with money, greed, arguments over copywriting and who wrote what. McCartney wanted to be the leader and the other Beatles did not like his style of leadership. Lennon loved Yoko and he changed his whole attitude about life due to that love. He no longer wanted all the bright lights and screaming girls. He was over it. He wanted a home and a wife and a kid. Bottom line is when you put 4 young men together on stage and have the world tell them they're gods and give them all the sex and drugs they can possibly want, there are bound to be power struggles. The band imploded from within. Don't blame one woman for what 4 ornery drugged-out rockers chose to do with their band.
