Jun 12th 2010 10:52PM Forget Clark. Did anyone see Bradley Jr. do anything positive in this match? He was pretty horrible.
Jun 12th 2010 9:01PM I'm sure the US would trade having to beat Canada for your punching bag, Andorra.
Jun 12th 2010 8:45PM US is certainly not in the top tier but they're capable creating sums that are more than the parts. Let's reserve mediocre for teams like Greece (what's a ball?) and Nigeria (I'm supposed to shoot at the netty-looking thing?).
Jun 12th 2010 8:37PM In America, the "harsh" tone comes from years of having to listen to insipid English TV commentators call games...and to listen to second rate English youth coaches pontificate on a game that has left them behind. If you take the time to watch Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Brazil or even Uruguay, you'll see players much better than any on the English side. Watch Messir or Forlan for instance. No comparison with regard to creativity. Not being harsh, just real. Blackstone's article was right on.
Jun 12th 2010 8:20PM Totally agree. England is overrated. Not sure why they were favorites as the US has had better Cups and beaten far better teams. England is a country of hero worshippers. When they have to see there heroes on the pitch, there's no option but to make excuses. One comment for the US coach: Bench your son. He's way out of his league. The US probably would have won without him.
Jun 6th 2010 8:27AM One other factor to consider when discussing salary: where you live. Surgeons in metro areas probably make a lot more than surgeons in rural areas. In terms of discretionary income, however, they may be very similar. Living in places like the NY metro area means that you're going to pay about 20 or 30 percent more for just about everything, including property taxes, food, housing, and insurance. I've average about 100k for nearly 30 years and find myself with a net worth of about 100k at 60 years old.

May 17th 2010 9:58AM Hey, Laura, wake up. Some people simply are flat and boring. I'm not particularly interesting myself...it's okay to be flat and boring. But please don't complain that it's the media's fault. If you had been more interesting...I'm sure today's media would have been on it.
