Is This the Kitchen of the Future?

Mar 26th 2011 8:47PM What a waste of space and money. How often is it going to break down? "Gee, please come over and fix my kitchen floor? the island won't come forth." Just have a table and chairs. it may be low tech, but guess what, ir can be moved with out electricity and it does not take up air space in the basement. Besides, just think how many kids will either get hurt and/or break the kitchen? Give them a plate and their ability to ruin things will only take up an 8 inch circle rather than 3-D 6 foot area.

Potentially Offensive Travel Ads

Mar 1st 2011 1:18PM BINGO! You really went right to the point about 'history' and 'reality.'

Report: Church of Scientology Under Federal Investigation for Free Labor

Feb 9th 2011 10:40PM And, that location was Elizabeth, NJ. In other words, he decided/discovered upon 'the new universe' by looking at the old oil wells in the Betsytown Port!!!

What It's Like to Work at Macy's

Dec 17th 2010 8:12PM Right on target. A really poor 'culture' to work for unlike dear ole' Stern's (in NJ) which was eventually bought out by that 34th Street mammoth. A real loss for retail employees.

What It's Like to Work at Macy's

Dec 17th 2010 8:07PM As one who is well aware of retail as a former Training Manager for Stern's (NJ/NY company) I certainly understand the poor actions by Macy's. Yes, they have THE Parade but other than that PR stunt, there is no real positive action with their employees. Though not having worked for Macy's, some of my former cohorts still are in the store due to takeover and thety all hate it! The kindness and positve interactions given by Stern's is sorely missed by those who worked for a company that did so many fine things for the employees both full and part time. With little exaggeration, no one was unhappy working for that Paramus based company. Even many customers still miss the really wonderful Super Sales that they had. They were quarterly but with very fine quality items rather than the shoddy every minute sales that Macy's now offers.

Nation's Report Card Shows Reading Levels of High School Seniors Are Worse Than 20 Years Ago

Nov 22nd 2010 8:38PM This comment is a TOTAL lack of understanding. The parents need to ensure that the kids do their school work rather than spend every waking moment with their ipod games and TV!!!! The lack of reading is because they only CAN READ the quick e-Mail with the "let's move on" concept. Afterall, the teachers are only with the youngsters from 8-3 on M-F. Perhaps reading before bedtime would be better than merely going to sleep following "Dancing With the Stars" viewings.

Obama visit likely to screw up Bar Harbor vibe

Jul 17th 2010 7:42PM oh-BUMMA is such a hypocritical creature - telling everyone to go to Gulf Coast to help their tourism as the BP "splash" is no problem any more and all, due to his admin's hard work, is fine. Well, where is he now? Not down South where he wants all to be but up North where all, in his mind, is fine.

This lifelong Democrat cannot wait for him to be out of office. The sooner the better!!!!!!!!

Pop-Tarts fruit claim called misleading

May 30th 2010 11:38PM Irony of it all is that Kellogg's was originally founded by a health food fanatic who was totally opposed to any thing but grain! his herbal belief was due to a strong religious fervor that eating meat was a from of canabalism. Due to pressures from others, he moved to Michigan as, at that time, it was just about the absolute end of the earth. sort of why the mormons went off to Utah during their migration. Anyway, now selling misleading product nutrition. Ah, dear ole' Mr. Kellogg would certainly be now battling at the creek if he was still around!!!

The Prepper Movement -- a Growing Network Preparing for the World's End

May 30th 2010 12:32PM Well, the Pemtacostal movement of the early 1800s believed in all that stuff. They were convinced the world would be ending in 1847. Hence, the origins of the 7th Day Adventists, the Shakers, the Quakers, and other now forgotten groups were sure and preparing for the end. Most emphatic then, as now, were the Mormons (LDS). They, to this very day, keep the needed food supplies ready for that time. As they most importantly feel its a major corner stone of their faith (hence Latter Day). Well, any rate, so for nothing has happened. 1847 passed, 1863 went, 1900 happened, and even those who were sure about 2001 were 'not happy' in their philosophy not occur. Of course, 9/11 was another push in that believe as well but meanwhile, no matter what happens elsewhere, people still plan for tom'ws sale at WalMart . . .
. . . in other words, you may die tom'w but everyone else will be fine. So, why worry?

Bake Sales: Let Them Eat Junk!

Mar 3rd 2010 10:26AM What a waste of admin time! Bake Sales are pure Americana. To stop them is such a twist on society and its cultural aspects. Raising money for a field trip is important and something the kids should be involved with doing.

So, now no more bakes sales. I guess for NATIONAL SECURITY, we will just have to round up the members of that Mass Murder Syndicate which secretly uses young females as decoys. Afterall, as NYC is letting us know, those Girl Scouts plan to secretly murder us all through their attractive poison laced treats, and they must be stopped!!!
