92-Year-Old's Offer to Buy Back Home Denied, Eviction Looms

Jun 23rd 2013 4:47PM Penny auctions are a joke. Why don't you tell the whole story? Why don't you explain how you have to purchase bid packes which cost you 76 cents per bid. One penny for the item and 75 cents per bid. Why don't you also explain that you still pay even if you don't win the item? That is how these things work. So if you bid ten times, you pay $7.50 plus the cost of the item.

Ex-Marine Dying of Cancer Faces Eviction Over Frequent Visitors

Jun 11th 2013 8:40PM Hey landlord. Instead of being a complete moron. Why don't you just restrict the hours these people can visit this guy so they are there when others are at work and not being bothered by the visitors? If they get out of hand, then have the police deal with them, but kicking the guy out is really about as low as you can get.

Ex-Marine Dying of Cancer Faces Eviction Over Frequent Visitors

Jun 11th 2013 8:36PM Why don't you tell the truth about these "penney" auctions? Why did you not include the FACT that in order to participate, you have to BUY a packet of bids with each bid costing 75 cents. So you bid on an item, the price of the item goes up by one cent, but costs you 76 cents 1 cent for the bid and 75 cents for the bid "ticket". Now if you lose the item by being outbid, you still lose the money you used in the bidding. So if you bid ten times you are out $7.50.

Tenants: Stench of Death Makes St. Louis Complex 'Unlivable'

May 17th 2013 11:27PM So why don't you tell the truth about penny auctions? Why did you not mention that ever though the bid price of the item goes up a penny for each bid, the bidder is actually paying 76 cents for each bid since he has to buy "bid packets" at 75 cents per bid? And even if you lose the auction, you have still used your bid packets. This is why these items sell so cheap. Everybody that bids on them is paying for them.
