Remove sweater pills with a disposable razor

fluffy white sweaterSweater pills can be a serious pain to those of us that live in sweaters for many months of the year. Seeing those extra bits of cloth and lint appear on our favorite sweaters at the imperfect time have the majority of us in a tizzy trying to find the perfect way to remove those offensive little bits of cloth and lint.

Before you decide to buy cheap pill removers that don't work very well, try using a disposable razor to remove sweater pills. It does take a little bit of time, but in my experience, it works just as well as the electric clothing shavers. The trick is to go slowly over the sweater with the disposable safety razor, so that you don't ruin the fabric. Since you don't want to remove any more fiber than necessary, it is also vitally important not to press too hard with the razor.

This year, don't cringe when you get a new sweater as a Christmas gift. You can wear your new sweater with pride and joy, knowing that you don't ever have to make it hide in the back of your closet with shame and regret when it has a bit of a pill problem.

A quick way to get those dead bugs off the windshield

To those of us who have to drive every day (and on the freeway, no less), we end up with a smattering of bugs all over the front windshield that can not only drive us batty once we try to use that auto-wiper function to clean all that muck off, but can actually impair vision.

To me, I'd rather not smear dead bugs all over the windshield, making the problem worse. Want a rather quick and easy solution? How about a standard razor blade? I've found that carrying a standard razor blade in a protective little case in the glove compartment works wonders when there's no time to wash the case but you just can't stand all those smeared bugs all over the windshield.

Note: Be careful here, razor blades are dangerous instruments. But, if used with a holder/handle system (you can get these for a dollar or two at any hardware store), light scraping or just sliding that razor blade gently down the windshield will make those bugs easily come off and reveal a nice and clean windshield, perfect for more driving without those annoying visual distractions right in front of you.
