PMP Exam Eligibility
Before you start your journey to be PMP certified, applicants will want to make sure that they meet the requirements to apply! PMI has a set of standards that all applicants need to meet before they are eligible for the exam. Students will need to meet two main criteria:
- Project Management Experience
Applicants will need to either have 3 years (36 months) of project management experience if you have a Bachelor's degree or higher, or 5 years (60 months) of project management experience if you have a high school diploma or Associates. If you have an education level below these items, you will not meet qualifications.
- 35 contact hours of PMP training
Applicants will need to receive 35 contact hours of training for the PMP exam. If you already meet the experience requirements, signing up for our boot camp and attending will get you the 35 contact hours of training you need!

An exclusive ATP student portal for pre-coursework before your boot camp! Includes a digital version of the PMP Exam Prep Guide, Mastery Builder activities to teach lessons, and spotlight videos that provide an overview of key areas. - PMTI Student Portal
Your main hub for coursework during and after the boot camp. Find 1800+ test questions and sim exams, recordings of your boot camp, and QOL improvements like a PMBOK glossary and memorization flow charts. - Blue & Orange books (Digital and Physical)
Our Blue and Orange books are supplementary to the PMP Exam Prep Guide. They provide breakdowns of the course itinerary in more detail, along with artifacts to show how PMI’s methodologies might apply to your real life. - After class Study and Support
After the boot camp has finished, PMTI provides 6 months of access to our student portals. During this time, students may also attend our exam review sessions, which serve as both a study group and an opportunity to ask more questions with our instructors! Don’t forget about your 60 PDUs after you pass the exam! This will be just enough to extend your certification from 3 years to 6 years!
How Do I get PMP certification?
Here are the 5 steps to get the PMP certification:
- Determine if you are eligible for the PMP exam.
- Signup for our PMP boot camp 2-3 weeks in advance in order to get properly trained and obtain the 35 contact hours.
- After you sign up, login to our student portals to study up beforehand and complete your application for the exam!
- Attend our PMP boot camp to receive your training from instructors that are PMI approved.
- Submit your application to PMI on day 4 and wait 2-3 days for approval.
- Schedule your exam with PMI through Pearson VUE.
- Take and Pass the PMP exam!
- Maintain your PMP certification with our free recertification package (60 PDUs).
Is the PMP exam fees included in the course fee?
No. You may have to budget an additional $500 to $600 towards PMP Exam course fee.
PMP Membership fee is $129
PMP Members fee is $405
PMP Non- Members fee is $555.
Should I be registered and scheduled for PMP exam before I take your course?
No. As a matter of fact, we recommend you register with PMTI first if you have not already applied for the PMP exam! PMTI provides valuable tools that will simplify your PMP application process and save you tons of time!
Is the PMP exam difficult?
The PMP exam is hard because of two reasons - a) The pmp exam content is vast and difficult and b) There is very little time available to answer questions. PMP questions present very close answers with hair-splitting differences which poses tremendous challenge unless you are pretty well prepared and practiced well-designed questions. What documents should I submit with PMP application?
PMI will not require or ask you to upload any documents of proof at the time of PMP application. However, if you are selected for a PMP audit, you will need to submit documents to verify your academic education, professional education (PMTIs PMP training certificate), and PM experience.
