If you are a new customer, here is what you need to do to join Metro and get your first free phone on a Metro Flex Start, Metro Flex Up, and Metro Flex Plus plan:
- Visit your nearest Metro store or shop online at metroby
t-mobile .com/phone-plans or call 1-888-8Metro8, then select the option for “new customer.” - Choose an unlimited Metro Flex plan that suits your needs, starting at $50/mo. with AutoPay ($55 first month).
- Bring your number and ID. An email address is also required to sign up.

The best offers are for customers that provide identification verification information when they join. However, after 12, 24, or 36 monthly payments, you can trade in your working phone and get the same great phone deals as new Metro customers on select devices.
If I switch to a lower priced Metro Flex Rate Plan, do I have to give my phone back?
You do not have to give your phone back, but you will be assessed a rate plan downgrade charge if you switch to a lower cost rate plan during the first 6 months, after joining or adding a line, if you received a discounted phone
I’m on a Metro Flex plan, where can I see when I will be eligible to trade in and take advantage of the same great phone deals as new customers?
In as early as 12 months from when you activated your Metro Flex plan, you can trade in your working phone and get the same great phone deals as new customers on select devices. We will send you updates as you reach 6-, 9-, and 12-month milestones toward your next device. Self-service Metro Flex tenure tracking is coming soon.

I’m a new customer and qualify for the REVVL 7 phone, but I want a Samsung phone. How can I get a free Samsung phone?
Join Metro, bring your ID, bring your number, and sign up for Metro Flex Up or Metro Flex Plus, and you can qualify for a great lineup of devices, including Samsung.

Can I switch plans after enrolling in a Metro Flex plan?
Yes, you can change plans at any time. However, moving to a lower cost plan within the first 6 months of activation or adding a line, you will incur a one-time rate plan downgrade charge of $50 to move plans. If you don’t want to pay this charge, you can leave Metro at any time without having to pay, or you can wait 6 months on your current plan.

You can switch to a Metro Flex rate plan and get the same amazing Metro Flex deals as new customers on select devices when you stay at least 12 months and trade-in your phone.
