St. Francis County was formed by the Arkansas territorial legislature on October 13, 1827. Madison served as the county seat until Forrest City, formed in 1869 and named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, replaced it in 1874. [3] The percentage of tenant farmers in the county rose from 43.2% in 1880 to 70.7% in 1900. [4]

Cleveland is an unincorporated community in Conway County, Arkansas, United States. Cleveland is located on Arkansas Highway 95, 19 miles (31 km) north of Morrilton. Cleveland has a post office with ZIP code 72030. [2] Cleveland was founded in 1890, named after former President Grover Cleveland.
When Clay County was created as Arkansas's 67th county on 24 March 1873 (along with Baxter County), it was named Clayton County, after John M. Clayton, then a member of the Arkansas Senate and a brother of then-U.S. Senator Powell Clayton, [3] though some sources suggest it may have been named for Powell Clayton instead.
