It is evidently untrue that ZIM left the WTC the week before the attacks. The decision to move to Virginia had been made months before and there were still ZIM employees working in the WTC on 9-11. This is explained in two Web log articles that seem to be the best source for this:
9:28: Flight 93 is hijacked above northern Ohio, turning to the southeast. 9:37:46: Flight 77 crashes into the western side of The Pentagon. All 58 passengers and crew are killed aboard the aircraft including an additional 125 (including emergency workers) on the ground. The crash starts a violent fire.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners, intentionally crashing two into the World Trade Center in New York City. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon. The fourth plane crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
