A landing page is a webpage that is displayed when a potential customer clicks an advertisement or a search engine result link. This webpage typically displays content that is a relevant extension of the advertisement or link. LPO aims to provide page content and appearance that makes the webpage more appealing to target audiences.
Note: This method is a hack which does not work with all Wikipedia skins. For example, users of the Classic skin will have the links at the top of the page covered up by the title. It is bad practice to create links in article text using the format [[Article#Section]]; navigation then becomes difficult if the section is expanded into a new article. Instead, link using a redirect to the main topic; it costs little and makes improvements easier. Thus: In a redirect page named "History of Topic", use #REDIRECT [[Topic#History]].
