Blues Interaction – Live in Japan 1986 is an album by blues singer and guitarist Otis Rush, recorded live in Tokyo in December 1986. Recorded with Break Down, a local Japanese band, it features tunes originally popularized by Rush and other blues and R&B artists.
"Double Trouble" is a slow tempo twelve-bar blues notated in 4/4 time in the key of D minor. [4] According to biographer Don Snowden, "The song's underlying air of quiet desperation stretched to the breaking point is enhanced by brilliant use of dynamics and some truly mind-boggling, strangled guitar fills near the end."
"I Can't Quit You Baby" was a vehicle for arranger-producer Dixon to launch Rush and Cobra Records, as it was the first single for both. [3] In this regard, it was a success, reaching number six on Billboard's Rhythm & Blues Records chart in 1956. [6] Otis Rush revisited "I Can't Quit You Baby" several times over the years.
"All Your Love" is a moderate-tempo minor-key twelve-bar blues with Afro-Cuban rhythmic influences. An impromptu song "apparently dashed off ... in the car en route to Cobra's West Roosevelt Road studios", [2] it borrows guitar lines and the arrangement from "Lucky Lou", a 1957 instrumental single by blues guitarist Jody Williams. [3]
