A landing page is a webpage that is displayed when a potential customer clicks an advertisement or a search engine result link. This webpage typically displays content that is a relevant extension of the advertisement or link. LPO aims to provide page content and appearance that makes the webpage more appealing to target audiences.

Note: This method is a hack which does not work with all Wikipedia skins. For example, users of the Classic skin will have the links at the top of the page covered up by the title. Alternate title headers are headers that cover up the default header at the top of a page. The default title header has the name of the page in big bold letters.

In graphic design, page layout is the arrangement of visual elements on a page. It generally involves organizational principles of composition to achieve specific communication objectives. [1]
Microsite. A microsite[1][2][3] is an individual web page or a small cluster of pages [4] which are meant to function as a discrete entity (such as an iFrame) within an existing website or to complement an offline activity. The microsite's main landing page can have its own domain name or subdomain.
One such design is the "hub" style userpage: like the one by AxG. (The User page design guide's main page utilizes a hub design). Another is the central image style, showcasing a single picture, accompanied by tabs or a menu for further navigation, like used by Trevor_MacInnis. Generally, "minimalist" would be a page that requires no scrolling.
