Delta Circini (δ Cir), is a multiple star system located in the constellation Circinus. Delta Circini is also known as HR 5664 , and HD 135240 . The system has a combined apparent visual magnitude of +5.09, and is located at a distance of about 700 pc (2,300ly) from the Sun.
It represents a specialized cursive type of the letter d, just as the integral sign originates as a specialized type of a long s (first used in print by Leibniz in 1686). Use of the symbol was discontinued by Legendre, but it was taken up again by Carl Gustav Jacob Jacobi in 1841, [ 4 ] whose usage became widely adopted.

Delta's largest event is the Delta Agricultural Fair, held annually at the end of July. Operated by the Delta Agricultural Society, originally the fair's location rotated between Delta, Athens and Gananoque.
