My concern is "how can nohat (or for that matter anyone) tell that the word Nal (or for that matter any word) has been lost from Tamil, where as it is been still used in day to day life. What right does he have to proclaim a word as "lost".

Also, Nohat has devised a 3-part test, to determine if words should be included on the list. The test is as follows: Does the word occur in English texts with any regularity?
