It was the brainchild of William Boeing and emerged from his consolidation of numerous carriers and equipment manufacturers from 1928 to 1930.
In 1997, it rebranded as US Airways. The airline was a member of the Star Alliance, before becoming an affiliate member of Oneworld in March 2014.
