Delta Sigma Pi was founded on November 7, 1907, at the School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance of New York University (NYU) in New York, New York and is currently headquartered in Oxford, Ohio. The Fraternity has 218 active collegiate chapters, 9 startup groups, 48 franchised alumni chapters, and over 300,000 initiated members.
Historically, there were several alumni social clubs associated with the fraternity—the 1890 edition of Baird's credits the Delta Psi with being "a pioneer in the development of this form of social life". These clubs usually adopted the name St. Anthony Club because the fraternity's badge was a St. Anthony's cross.

Graduate members of Delta Psi immediately undertook a fundraising campaign to pay for the renovation of the aging house, as well as maintain the unoccupied property until such time as the undergraduate organization could be restored. By 2005 they reported raising $1.2 million from alumni, short of the $2 million needed.
With the help of four alumni, Neils Neilson, Gamma; George Van Soyoc and Jim Vorst, Alpha; and Herb Olm, Delta, the thirteen charter members and one new member, were activated by National Delta Theta Sigma officers in May 1982.
