Available From: Horizon Hobby. Price at time of review: $399.99. When I saw the EC-1500 from E-flite I was intrigued. This thing looks like a scale model but upon closer inspection, you will see this twin-engine cargo plane goes beyond scale. I always try to imagine the folks at Horizon putting their heads together on the next design and I ...

If you are willing to do a little basic balsa building, Willy Nillies has a bunch of fun little kits that are all designed to be under 250g. And they all fly well. They are inexpensive, build very quickly and the total cost to get the kit and to get one completed and outfitted to a PnP level is not a lot over $100.

Available From: Horizon Hobby through your local hobby shop. Street Price: $299.99. When Hangar 9 first introduced the new Ultra Stick design, it was immediately apparent that this wasn't your grandpa's same old "Stick". From the racy swept rudder to the double beveled quad flaps, it was perfectly clear that the Ultra Stick was a big improvement.

  8. Horizon Hobby E-flite Twist 3D 480 Review - RC Groups

The Twist 480 is a great aerobatic airplane. It performed all the routine aerobatic maneuvers with ease. However, I found that I needed to reduce the low rates slightly to get really smooth, precision aerobatics. With normal low rates, the Twist 480 flew just like a full-size sport plane.

Andy. I believe balsa has a slight edge in weight when getting down to 250 grams, but it is very slight. and choice of covering can make more difference than the airframe underneath. That said I am working with EPS not EPP which helps, and don't need to consider manufacturability.
