There are frequent complaints here and on the T-Mobile support forum about mysterious roaming problems. It's a good idea to read the various documents on the T-Mobile support site that deal with roaming, keep the international support phone number ( +1-505-998-3793) handy and have some sort of backup plan. 2. 3. How good is T-mobile International Data Pass performance?

I will be using it in Germany and Italy if that matters. If you have an iPhone, get an international eSIM data plan, they are usually cheaper and have more data than the 5G international pass from T-Mobile. I got a 10-day pass in Greece, last October and regularly got speeds of 30-80 Mbps. YMMV. Definitely usable.

As a T-Mobile employee, I can confirm that calling back to the US while abroad is free as long as the call is placed over WiFi. To be sure, I would definitely do as you proposed and enable Airplane Mode and re-enable WiFi only. Download Tmobile Digits and have a peace of mind. It works over wifi and cellular data.

Sorry for not giving you answer and give you link. To used international plan you have to turn on roaming to used international plan. unlimited calling is for us, Canada and Mexico only but other 215+ country you will be charged $.25/ minutes doesn’t matter for Wi-Fi calling at all so best option to use as WhatsApp or country sim for calling much cheaper option.

The $15 2.5GB connect plan is good, but the data shuts off after 2.5GB. If you need more data and can pool the 4 lines together, AT&T prepaid 5GB is $80 for 4 lines in a group (the more you have, the cheaper - up to 10 lines), cheaper with occasional refill discount from target stores. AT&T is very harsh with VoLTE so international devices ...

T-Mobile's base international calling rate is $3/min This rate is a remnant from a time where international calls were rare and expensive. These days most MVNOs charge a few cents per minute for international calls. Some even have international calls included at no additional cost.
