Delta Air Lines announced Monday it is giving all its employees a 5% raise worldwide and is hiking starting pay to $19 an hour, after paying out $1.4 billion in profit-sharing bonuses.
Delta unveiled its profit-sharing program in 2007 as the company emerged from bankruptcy, and employees received their first payout in 2008, totaling $158 million.
The Association of Flight Attendants, part of the Communication Workers of America, in a statement on Apr. 22 said, “Flight attendants make Delta record profits, get pocket change in return.”
