Pennsylvania Route 283 (PA 283), officially State Route 0300 or SR 0300 due to the presence of Interstate 283 (I-283), is a 29-mile-long (47 km) freeway in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It connects Harrisburg to Lancaster, paralleling the old U.S. Route 230 (US 230, now partly PA 230).
The route intersects the Airport Connector near the Harrisburg International Airport, PA 441 and PA 341 in the Middletown area, PA 241 and PA 743 in Elizabethtown, and PA 772 in Mount Joy. The road between Middletown and Lancaster was originally a private turnpike dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries.

In 1954, the Donegal High School was formed by the combination of the East Donegal Township, Mount Joy, Marietta, and Mount Joy Township high schools. The building was built in 1954 at the intersections of PA-772 and Union School Road. This structure remained as the high school until 2012, when a new building was built on nearby Koser Road.
In 1836, the Harrisburg, Portsmouth, Mount Joy and Lancaster Railroad (HPMt.J&L RR) built a connecting line from Dillerville, just west of Lancaster, to Mount Joy. [6] Building from both ends, the line was completed from Dillerville to Harrisburg in 1838. [6] This bypassed the canal between Harrisburg and Columbia.

The brewery building was built in 1859, and consists of a 2 1/2-story, stone flat roofed building with a one-story, attached brick building. The stone portion features large, arched double entry doors.
