At UA they don’t have a seat lock if you get awarded a smaller plane and it will about 5 years to hold 330/350 at delta for someone hired now. Probably less than 2 at UA for 777/787. Very true, tho 30-ish year career a seat lock is a wash. And idk about much diff to hold WBA DLvUA. Great analysis done by Pilot Pulse https://youtu.be ...

There is now a $50/year charge for ALL non revenue travel. No $50 payment= no pass travel. $50/year is based on your anniversary date. Black Rocket..it is unclear if you are a Delta employee, a retiree or just a "friend" of a Delta employee. Sounds like either the first or second,if you can access Delta Net.

  6. Delta and the seat belt sign? - Airline Pilot Central Forums

    www.airlinepilotforums.com/major/58473-delta-seat-belt-sign.html

The seat belt sign is on the descent checklist... so I turn it back on in the descent somewhere between FL240 and FL180. If it's smooth, I try to wait until we're closer to FL180 before turning it on for the duration of the flight. Bottom line, safety is the first and foremost consideration.

Its length that is the problem. Delta might be quite sensitive to that at the moment! 777-9 is 252 feet. A350-900 is 220 feet. A350-1000 is 242 feet. There is also a taxiway issue at some airports. One thing I noted was how many pilots don't understand the difference between merging taxi lines.

  10. DL v UA (ATL or IAH)? - Page 4 - Airline Pilot Central Forums

    www.airlinepilotforums.com/delta/148317-dl-v-ua-atl-iah-4.html

Pilot group size is an irrelevant metric between competing airlines, other than the fact that pilots are expensive. In fact, DL would be happier to fly the same volume/revenue as UA with fewer expensive pilots. This might be considered winning. That said, market share is absolutely a metric in the thinking.
