As of August 2017, the University of Georgia Graduate School offered 327 graduate degree programs: 115 doctoral, 140 master's, 15 education specialist, 46 interdisciplinary and 11 online degree programs. The Doctor of Philosophy is offered in 86 disciplines, the Master of Arts in 35 disciplines, and the Master of Science in 50 disciplines.
The Education Specialist, also referred to as Educational Specialist or Specialist in Education ( Ed.S., EdS or S.Ed. ), is a specialist degree in education which is an advanced professional degree in the U.S. that is designed to provide knowledge and theory in the field of education beyond the master's degree level. In the United States, the Specialist's degree is hierarchically above the master's degree and below the Doctorate. It was invented by colleges and schools of education as an alternative to obtaining a doctorate, and focuses on subjects pertinent to K-12 education - such as leadership and counseling, and educational psychology.

The College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). All initial teacher preparation programs are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC). The school offers bachelor's, master's and specialist degrees.
