Jamaica Observer is a daily newspaper published in Kingston, Jamaica. The publication was owned by Butch Stewart (now deceased), who chartered the paper in January 1993 as a competitor to Jamaica's oldest daily paper, The Gleaner. Its founding editor is Desmond Allen who is its executive editor – operations. [1]
Stewart also founded The Jamaica Observer newspaper in January 1993 [12] and, in 1994, started the Air Jamaica Acquisition Group to buy a majority stake in Air Jamaica.
