S.P.A.M. - Ebates scam - Would someone tell me if clickrewards actually delivers what it promises? I guess I'm never going to get my money from ebates If anyone cares - below is a synopis of a LONG and rather discouraging correspondence with ebates.
Ebates does not have the reservation (order) number until IHG pays the commission. When you book through Ebates, they assign the transaction a 'Shopping trip' number which is the booking. When the purchase/stay is finalized, the 'shopping trip' number is associated with the 'order' number and posted with the rebate to the account.
S.P.A.M. - eBates $10/$25 sign-up/referral bonus through 12/31 [CONGA] - Hey all, eBates is running another sign-up and referral promo through Dec. 31. eBates is a rebate site offering cashback on many online retailers, including travel sites such as Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, united.com, United Vacations, etc.
If you use MS Internet Explorer, look for a folder labeled "Cookies". Delete anything that has "ebates" in the name. Also look for a folder labeled "Temporary Internet Files" and see if it contains a "Content.IE5" folder or some such. Again, look for cookies with "ebates" in the name. Delete them.
S.P.A.M. - Time to realize something about mypoints, ebates, morerebates, etc. - I posted this same topic at the end of the current thread regarding "more rebates". Basically, we need to all realize that these sites cost us more money than they make us in the long run. Think two or three times about eBates
S.P.A.M. - Free (after rebate) HP printer - I wasn't sure if this should go here or in OMNI but since I used ebates.com (thanks for the original post on ebates, doc), I'll put it here. This is an legitimate, advertised deal - no use of 'questionable' coupons involved - but if you go thru the ebates.com shopping portal

One can also now earn Membership Rewards points through ebates.com. Marriott, Intercontinental, and Fairmont are examples where one can earn Membership Rewards points. Marriott recently had 10% cash back/MR points offers. OTAs like Expedia, Hotels.com, and many others also earn MR points when booking via ebates.com.
Yes, they arrive and I've used them for years. Ebates is, IMHO, the best of the online rebate click-thru sites around. They have an extensive vendor list and good rebate rates. Ebates is very reliable about proper rebate crediting in my experience. I've been using Ebates for a few years, and the checks do come.
